{Avon Walk For Breast Cancer}

By The Travelling Tastebuds (Visit website)

Today I feel… gosh, I dunno… inspired???  I read a ton of foodie… travel… fitness & health blogs… such as Carrots ‘N’ Cake & KathEats… and I have to tell you that they are a constant source of motivation.  Watching them eat well while training for a marathon is very very exciting and makes me feel as if I could do… well… something similar.  The thought of RUNNING a 26.2 mile marathon is still daunting but now WALKING… walking is another story.  I :love: to walk… I prefer to walk… and oh how I wish I lived in a ‘walking city’.  So I present to you the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer.  I have my eye on the Santa Barbara walk which takes place in mid-September.  It gives me just enough time to train for the 2-day walking marathon and Santa Barbara is such a charming oceanside town.  I’m a tad scared as I’ve never done anything of the sort… yet thrilled for the opportunity.

There is another reason why I’d like to participate in this walk in particular.  Breast cancer runs in my family… my mother had it {twice} and survived… my grandmother had it… my aunt had it… and well… let’s just say a whole slew of women in my family have suffered from it.  I understand the dangers of breast cancer and would in some small way contribute to the cure… or at the very least… research.  What do you guys think?  Would anybody else be interested in walking this 2-day marathon with me?
