?Always remain ultimately selfish??

By Tramplingrose (Visit website)

It’s chilly enough out these days that I felt the need to get out the crock pot for tonight’s dinner:

I still needed to use the stew meat I was going to make the Beef Paprika with, and yesterday I decided that beef stew sounded good. When my parents would make it, they’d always add in a can of tomato sauce, which I never cared for. I just used beef, potatoes, corn, and some garlic. It turned out decently enough.

I attempted to thicken it up with some cornstarch & water, but it didn’t thicken as much as I’d wanted. It was still tasty, though.

And there are leftovers for Jay & I to take for lunch. After dinner, I had to pop out to the store to get some ibuprofen for Jay. I cracked up a bit at one point, when I heard the beginning notes of Depeche Mode’s “Get the Balance Right.” When we were there yesterday morning, the bambino & I were getting down with our bad selves to Culture Club’s “Miss Me Blind.” For someone who listens to cornball music himself, Jay made more fun of us than was really necessary.

I also needed some Gatorade:

Come hell or high water, I WILL go running tomorrow. I like it better than just water when I get back from my runs. I also picked up a couple of these:

I’ll give them a shot for snacks this week. Hy-Vee was still out of my Fage though. I’m going to be pathetic and check every day until it’s back in stock! And on that note, I’m off to bed.
