A Day Late and A Dollar Short
The September 2009 Daring Bakers' challenge was hosted by Steph of A Whisk and a Spoon. She chose the French treat, Vols-au-Vent based on the Puff Pastry recipe by Michel Richard from the cookbook Baking With Julia by Dorie Greenspan. I filled my Vols-au-Vent with a most scrumptious lemon mousse. The recipe comes from the Barefoot Contessa, with a few alterations. I saw a recipe for lemon mousse that included beer so I threw in a little hefeweizen beer to give the mousse a little zip. I promise I'll post the recipe soon. Right now I need to take my weary self to bed. Didn't matter how much mousse I ate (ie. sugar) nothing can keep me awake...not even lemon mousse!
