A public apology & an explanation
Dear fellow readers,
Of late, I know my blog has been flooded with pageant related posts, and I would like to apologise to all of you. Most of you probably visit bangsar-babe.blogspot.com to check out the latest food places I?ve tried and read about my food experiences. For the past two weeks, I?ve been posting more about the Miss World Malaysia 2009 pageant, and less food reviews. Please bear with me until the 2nd October 2009. After that, I believe things will resume to normal, and Bangsar-bAbE will be back in full force. In the mean time, do support me by voting for me HERE. Or better still, come cheer for me during the grand finale on the 2nd October 2009 in Sunway Pyramid. After all, how often do you get to see a food blogger parade around in an evening gown and big hair? *wink* XOXO, Bangsar-bAbE When I graduated, the first job I had was a writer in a publishing company. My ex-boss was fond of making his staff do more than what their job requires, so I found myself doing writing, photography, layout design and even covering events. Miss World Malaysia 2007 was one of them, and I was persuaded by the event organizers to join the pageant next year. Picture credit to google.comAfter a lot of thought, I decided to give it a go, to see what it was like being in the limelight. I got the pageants mixed up, and ended up in Miss Malaysia Universe 2008 instead. Training was difficult, but I learnt a lot about self-grooming, posture and poise. However, I didn?t give it my best shot because I lacked self confidence. This year, I?m a lot more confident and prepared (mentally and emotionally) to give this another shot, and to see how well I would fare this round. It will also be a great experience for me ? to learn more about myself and how to communicate better with others. Pageants are not about having big hair, putting on thick makeup and wearing 5-inch heels on stage. There?s much more to all that ?glam?. Miss World Malaysia is about finding the most poised, elegant, confident, beautiful and most importantly, the most intelligent candidate to represent Malaysia in the international stage. Question is, with 20 gorgeous, talented and smart finalists, who will win the crown? The pageant will find that ?chosen one? through rigorous training and grooming. By joining the Miss World Malaysia 2009 pageant, I want to reach out to girls and guys who lack self confidence and those who don?t believe in themselves. I believe I can help others, especially via my blog, bangsar-babe.blogspot.com. It is one of the regularly read food blogs in Malaysia and is a great way to reach out to the public ? online media is very popular and accessible these days. My blog is about my latest food discoveries. Eating is a communal activity -it brings people together, nurtures friendships and foster ties. Via my blog, people can catch up with friends over good food. These are healthy activities that help build good character and prepares one for life. That being said, come and support me on the 2nd October 2009, Friday at Sunway Pyramid! related searches : Public
