A Raw Food Challenge
Speaking of half full..
Not 45 minutes after my post-yoga snack I was back in the kitchen. It was just so pretty I had to share. I told myself I didn?t have to eat that many vegetables today (It was a great conversation, a whole back and forth dialogue about how a day without lots of vegetables is okay
Up for a Challenge I have found myself more and more interested in the ?Raw Food Movement,? so to speak. When I read this post from Jenna at Eat, Live, Run, I knew it was the perfect chance to give raw foods a whirl. So every Wednesday I?ll be making one raw meal and one raw snack. Cool, huh?
Why go Raw? Here are a few facts I found while reading about raw food diets online: -This way of eating focuses on unprocessed and uncooked plant based foods such as fresh fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds, etc. -The idea is that heating food above a certain temperature (roughly 114*) strips it of vital nutrients and prana or ?life force.? By eating food that has been heated, you maximize your body?s ability to absorb essential nutrients and enzymes. -To be considered a raw foodist, your diet must be about 75% raw and living foods.
Well, I?m no where near ready to be a ?raw foodist? but I don?t think it could hurt to dabble. I have been perusing Gena?s blog which is all about raw food. She has a lot of great information and is inspiring me to get creative, and un-cooking! I also just put a bunch of raw ?cook? books on hold at the library. Woo! Any other takers? related searches : Raw
