Abelskiver Bazaar, Part 3

By Marens Morsels (Visit website)

For lunch today the family met at my Grandma?s for some minestrone soup. It?s still raining here and everyone felt soupy.

When I arrived at Grandma?s these rocky road squares caught my eye.

Grandma bought these at the Bake Sale yesterday. They?re just chocolate mixed with almonds and mini marshmallows.

Then I enjoyed delicious soup!

Two whole bowls in fact.

With a little sliver of garlic bread and a sprinkle parm.

I have quite the sweet tooth today, because even after my rocky road square I needed a little dessert after lunch. I found this in my Grandma?s freezer.

Tin Roof Sundae ice cream! This is vanilla ice cream with fudge swirls and chocolate covered almonds. Not very rain friendly, but oh so yummy.

The Abelskiver Bazaar

I still have tons of pictures from the Bazaar yesterday.

St. Ansgar?s Lutheran Church has missionaries in over 20 countries, the Abelskiver lunch was to raise money for their missionary funds.

Apple butter is so delicious, especially for ?skiver dipping!

The Bazaar was decorated for Christmas and it was my first taste of the Holiday Season. It felt so great.

We were making Abelskivers in 6 different rooms. I think St. Ansgar?s had the highest concentration of ?skiver pans in the western world. ;-)

There was also other food prep besides ?skiver making going on in the kitchen.

That woman in the far right corner was my 4th and 5th grade teacher! Mrs. Howell.

People drove as far as an hour to enjoy some of our Abelskivers. The fellowship hall was packed!

The adults enjoyed chit-chatting inside while the kids bounced the day away outside.

This afternoon Max and I decided to go on a little road trip. We went to Palo Alto to get a dresser at Ikea, then on the way home we stopped at Max?s favorite place, Guitar Center and ate dinner at Red Robin!

Dinner

Over water I read the massively delicious menu. Literally every burger was calling my name.

IMG_1912

After widdling my choices down I ended up ordering the Pub Burger. It?s new and I felt like I had to try it before it leaves the menu.

IMG_1911

We didn?t get to Red Robin ?til about 6:30 and I was definitely hungry after searching the Ikea Warehouse for a brown-black dresser. Finally our food came.

The herb and onion infused bun was amazing. I love herby bread. Hello Steak Fries!

IMG_1916

Look how massive this burger is. I almost couldn?t get my mouth around it.

Messy burgers make the best burgers!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Can?t wait ?til Thanksgiving and a few days off school.
