Aced

By Blog of Shannon (Visit website)

I think I aced my exam tonight.  I hope so.  I didn't do very well on my first exam.  Not only had I been in Disney all weekend and not studied adequately, but it was the night after my Nana had died, so my mind wasn't focused on an accounting exam.  Tonight, however, I think I did much better.  I won't know until next week though.

I didn't do any exercise this morning.  My hip was bothering me all day yesterday, so when my alarm went off I decided to just sleep instead.  I think I might have twisted a little too much while doing yoga on Monday.  I'll push through soreness and muscle pain in most parts of my body, but when it's my bad hip, I cease and desist.  I'm also a little burnt out on waking up to exercise ;)

1/3 cup rolled oats, almond milk, waterDash of sea saltSplash of vanilla extract1/2 banana cooked in oats1 tsp ground flax seedThe last of my fresh apricots (doubt I'll buy anymore, they're too expensive!)Scoop of peanut butter
Work wasn't too exciting this morning.  My LPN who was been with me since the clinics opened is quitting.  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't extremely anxious about this.  She's been my go-to person for all things nursing and I am going to miss her terribly.  Needless to say, I've been milking every bit of knowledge I can out of her and writing it down before she leaves me!  I've been praying that the Lord will send me a great replacement, and I know He will.  I remind myself of this truth every time I begin to hyperventilate.

The way my weekdays work is that I spend my mornings at one clinic, then head to the other clinic after lunch.  I only have an actual office at one of the clinics.  I just have a wallaroo at my smaller clinic.  The clinics are equal in patient volume and staff members, but the buildings are quite different.  One of the clinics was built from the ground up--I got to approve the blueprints and choose everything from the paint colors to the carpet to the furniture even to the knobs on the cabinets!  I consider it my baby.  However, the other clinic opened in an existing building and is less than stellar.  We (staff) are constantly burning up due to the messed up air conditioner ventilation in the existing building.  I have come to accept the fact that I will leave work with sweat stains on my clothes throughout the summer.  No big deal.  I also embrace the fact that even though I may be hot all morning or afternoon (depending on when I go to my oven of a clinic), I have the luxury of going to the other clinic for the other half of my day where the temperature is always pleasant (and where I have an actual door I can shut if I need privacy).  However, this afternoon when I walked into the bigger clinic, I was hit when hot air.  The staff had called me yesterday to tell me about the issue, and I immediately phoned our landlord, but it was still sweltering.  After spending all morning long sweating at the little clinic, there was no way I was about to spend the other half of my day in misery.  I quickly called my landlord's office again and told them I was, in fact, dieing.  It was fixed within the hour!  The building was too hot to cool down completely, but the A/C repairman assured me that the building would be cool again....tomorrow morning!  Oh well, at least it's fixed.  I had to leave before I could even stand under a vent and feel the cool air rushing out.  Although at that point, I was just ready to get in my car and flip the A/C to Max Air.

At this point in my day, I hopped on the interstate en route to UNF.  Insert a picture of an apple and some almonds because that's what I ate on my way to class.

After *hopefully* acing my exam, dinner was served:

Same sandwich as Monday night: sandwich thin, avocado, turkey, Laughing Cow swiss and a slice of my grandpa's organically grown yellow tomato.  This was my first time trying my grandpa's yellow tomatoes.  Delicious.  My Pa told me that they have loads of antioxidants, and they don't have as much (if any?) acid in them like red tomatoes.  I'm loving the combo of tomato+turkey+avocado.

Once I got home from school, I had a dessert I've been wanting to try for quite some time.  I picked up some VitaTops from Publix the other day, and tried one tonight.  This flavor is Deep Chocolate.

I had alongside some peppermint tea.  It tasted like a brownie to me.  Two thumbs up.  This could be dangerous.  These are available in lots of flavors, but I've been reluctant to buy them due to the $.  It's a nice treat though.  Aaaand for accountability's sake, I had a scoop of peanut butter, a date and a dried apricot.

Off to read before bedtime!
