An Accidental 3 Course Indulgence
Picking up bargains on scallops, squid and figs led to this rare 3 course meal….. Grilled Scallops on Lemony Kale with Wasabi Mayo This is a 5 minute dish – and cheap! The kale was chopped and sauteed in olive oil and lemon juice and then made into little green nests to hold a scallop. Total cost about 200 yen – the scallops were 160 yen, the wasabi free with the scallops, the kale I grew myself and a dab of mayo and splash of lemon juice. Looks expensive, no? [/Heidi Klum] Calamari & Salad Also a rare potato chip indulgence! Actually the most decadent part of this was the tomatoes on the vine we splurged on. Baked Fig with Blue Cheese and Kahlua I was worried that the Kahlua would clash a bit – but it’s the only liquer in the house! Luckily it tasted great – and was stupidly easy and quick. Cross cut the fig, jammed a bit of blue cheese in the middle, splash of Kahlua over that and baked in the toaster oven for 10 minutes.
