An international Weekend!

By CIAO-CHOW (Visit website)

The more I want to stay away from food the harder it gets. This weekend was awesome! My morning began with an all American/Italian breakfast.
The cappuccino foam was so tick that every sip was like a mini ride to heaven and back! The coffee dripped from my Nespresso is the dream come true of any wanna be barista!

Eric and I are officially looking to buy a house. Nothing big...a condo or townhome. So we spent one hour on the phone with our real estate agent to go over some of the listings that we have saved and selected....By the time we were done, it was lunch time. The Mediterranean flavors were calling me! Hummus was on the agenda.... not just any hummus.... SABRA!

Out of all the hummus brands I have ever tried, Sabra is the one I like best. Of course, I could make hummus at home, but it is easier just to buy it! So my sandwich looked like this...

After lunch, Eric and I headed to a car dealership to test drive a potential car. But no luck, as the dealer was closed (I know right? What dealer closes on Sundays??). But our afternoon was saved! We went to Hollin Hall Pastry Shop. This is a great, hidden gem of deliciousness, awesomeness and mouth watering goodness. Take a look!

This one was our prey. Chocolate and Raspberry mousse.

I know! Are you screaming yet???

After a great detour to the pastry store...we headed to Old Town. Alexandria is the best place to be. I love walking around Old Town, and today the weather (and the friends we were with) made it even more perfect. Naturally, when the sun is out, you must stroll around town with ice-cream. And so, we had dessert # 2. Here is us...happy...eaters.

After a couple of hours of walking around, Eric and a friend went home to play PS3. I and my friend went to the international grocery store. I love love love grocery shopping. There is something about undiscovered aisles and interesting items that just makes me go crazy. The finds are always so interesting...Can you guess what this are???

Hope you had a great weekend too.

A.
