Anniversary Dinner- Memories and Recipes
This was a very special meal I prepared for our wedding Anniversary dinner. Typically we don't eat extravagant (expensive) meals, and rarely do I serve three courses. So buckle in folks, this is going to be a long one, I assure you it is worth the moments it takes you to take a look! We started our meal with a wine I found recently, it wasn't expensive ($10-15, NITA) but it was fairly good no less. I'm not much of a wine or beer drinker traditionally but I figured this was a good opportunity to try something new and it did pair well with the meal. To start off our delicious supper I served my own variation of French Lentil soup with Andouille sausage. I added lots and lots of pepper and garnished it with green onion. It was delicious and spicy, very flavorful. For dinner I made a succulent roasted duck with an orange glaze and venison and cherry stuffing. (dressing). Then the dessert of course was my Blackberry Tiramisu Trifle. I enjoyed it all very much! Now I just have to figure out what to do with the left overs. I imagine its not going to be too difficult considering how delicious everything was this may be one meal I dont have to even bother "re-inventing". Overall my theme for this meal was French fusion. I flipped through my copy of Mastering the art of french cooking (Julia Child) and thought about recipes I've seen here and there, recipes I've made before etc. This was the ultimate result.
