Here's the picture of Chicken stew along with fluffy Kerala appams. I made this lip-smacking delight for breakfast.

Best looking Appams is made from the traditional Appachatti than the non-stick vessels.With Appachatti you get that crusted border. As a kid I only ate the Appam border, leaving the soft center in my plate.Now, times has mellowed my eating habits. Nothing remains on my plate.

Appam goes well with stew or fish molly. Often I make egg curry as a side dish for appam.

Tips To Make Beautiful Looking Appams
Making appam can be bit tricky. It's filled with lots of unexpected surprises, or goof ups. When I started making appam, I faced many appam disasters. Sometimes, appam wouldn't come from the cheenachatti and few times appam looked more like a dosa than a appam.

Recently my Mom told me to smear big onion on the Appachatti before pouring the appam batter. The onion grease will help to keep to remove appams without it sticking to the base of the pan.
