Asahi Japanese Restaurant (Times Square - KL)
For some strange reasons Iwas in Times Square. I hardly go there unless it is for movies. My friend and Iwere hungry and didn't know what to eat so we spent about 30mins roaming themall. We chanced upon Asahi and figured we gave it a try.The ambience and décor isnicely done although the place is rather empty. Perhaps it is the slightly highprices that are keeping the people away. The menu is quite extensive and sinceit was during lunch hour, the sets were available. My friend opted for itsSaba Shio set which came with lots of side dishes. The two pieces of sabafish were lightly salted and grilled. It managed to retained the tasty fish oiland juiciness within. I'm not quite sure whatexactly is this but it somehow seem like an appetiser with bit of fish skin init. Most people who have hadJapanese cuisine before will know the pickled radish and ginger. Last but not least, theset has one chawanmushi and a bowl of miso soup. Both were decent not nothingmuch to shout about. As for me, I had theTempura Soba, which is one of my favourites. The soba here is no different thanthe regular Japanese places such as Sakae Sushi and Sushi Zanmai. The soup isshoyu-based and the mixed tempura items came separately. There were two prawns anda good mix of vegetable tempura. The items were crispy and went nicely with thenoodles. The set was bout RM29-32 and the soba was priced at RM23. Not too bad.I wouldn't mind coming back to try their raw items. Asahi Japanese Restaurant LG-73, 74,Lower Ground Floor (Opposite Cold Storage) Berjaya Times Square related searches : Asahi
