Asian-ish Vegan Cooking
If miso soup is $1.25 from Sushi Boat, I figured it must be fairly inexpensive to make myself. I ventured into the Asian market around the corner from my house, and got greeted stared at... The owners and customers were a bit surprised to see me in there. Anyways! I bought this miso paste for $4.49 and it is enough to make tons of miso soup! SCORE. I also bought this to add in the soup... Those little symbols clearly read, "Seaweed." The ingredients on the back were in English, otherwise I wouldn't have know =) Once the miso paste dissolved into the boiling water, I added the seaweed and tofu from Trader Joe's and WAH-LAH... It was SO yummy and just like what I would have bought at the restaurant!! I bought rice papers, You have to soak them in water for a few minutes to soften. They are pretty tasteless, so they don't add any taste. They and texture, and it's a different way to eat your veggies-- keep reading! I also bought an organic avocado, and teeny cucumber. I sliced them super thin... I mashed the avocado and mixed it with diced tomatoes and a dash of cayenne pepper.... (it doesn't look very good yet, but just wait...) Added some baby spring mix, and carrots... and cukes... DELISHHHHHHHHH!!!! this was sooo good. It was a light dinner, but definitely packed with nutrients! The wraps weren't too strong, next time I will make them smaller and maybe add some beans, too! This definitely surpassed Bitty's dinner.... mmmMMmmMMmm "prime filets" MORE snow in Pittsburgh ruining my weekend. Julie and I are going to watch "Love Happens" with Jennifer Aniston, so it is shaping up so far! related searches : Asian
