Asparagus with Sour Cream Horseradish Dip
The other day, I was looking for new ways to enjoy asparagus. To have some inspiration, I looked at many recipes using asparagus on the web. I realized that asparagus go very well with sour cream and horseradish. I thought it was an interesting combination because I discovered horseradish a couple of months ago and I love to pair it with sour cream. So the deal was concluded: I would be having my asparagus with sour cream and horseradish. I also realized that many of these recipes added bread crumbs and garlic with the sour cream and the horseradish. I just thought that these four ingredients must be ssoo yummy together! So I made a bigger deal with myself: I am going to make a dip with sour cream, horseradish, bread crumbs and garlic scapes. Garlic scapes are the stalk of the garlic plants and they have a mild garlic flavor. They are harvested when they are still young and tender. Unfortunately, they are available only for a few weeks in June. And their greatest quality: they are as versatile as garlic! This dip was easy and quick to make and it was full of surprises! It had nice kick from the horseradish and a subtle garlicky flavor. The texture was creamy and crumby at the same time. Ingredients 1 to 2 pounds asparagus, trimmed and cook the way you prefer ***For the dip*** 250 mL sour cream 60 mL bread crumbs 20 mL garlic scape, minced (or 1 glove garlic, minced) 20 mL horseradish pepper to taste Instructions 1. Combine the ingredients for the dip together in a medium bowl. 2. Serve with the asparagus. Makes about 300 mL of dip. related searches : Asparagus
