Baa baa... Hay Dairies, fresh goat milk in Singapore??

We heard that there is a goat farm at Singapore, Hay Dairies, the only goat farm in Singapore. It is located on the very obscure Lim Chu Kang, but I took the opportunity to enjoy the nature scenery. We took the Kranji Express bus for $2, which departs at intervals from Kranji MRT station.


We were slightly late but still managed to see the milking in time. (Milking time: 9am-11am)

Due to Hygiene, we couldn?t try our hand at milking the goats and the milk is milked by using a high-tech vacuum milking system.

It?s hardly to buy the fresh goat milk at the market, so you can buy directly from the farm.

It provides foam container with every 5 small bottles (200ml) or 2 big bottles (800ml) purchase. They also sell the goat's milk via phone orders, and makes deliveries to the customers' homes. The milk comes in plain and chocolate flavours.

If you ask me how does it taste like? I would say is more concentrated and much more fresh compare to cow milk. Unlike cow's milk there is no need to homogenize goat's milk. While the fat globules in cow's milk tend to separate to the surface, the globules in goat's milk are much smaller and will remain suspended in solution. When individuals have sensitivity to cow's milk, goat's milk can sometimes be used as an alternative. The most important is the Hay Dairies goats are not administered with growth hormones. Therefore, it might be more expensive than the cow milk in the market but definitely it's better for our health. For our health purpose, cheers with goat milk!
