Baby Potatoes in Green Masala!
The other day I was talking to my Sister over the phone..and some how we came on the cooking topic! She reminded me about this dish, which I once saw on a TV cookery programme in India..I made it about 2-3 times there, and then after that I totally forgot about it till now...Thanks to my lil sis! So I made it today and want to share the recipe with you all...
You will need:- 8-10 baby potatoes Oil Pinch Asafoetida 1 tsp Cumin and Coriander seeds You will need for the masala:- 3-4 Green Chillies 1 cup fresh coriander small piece of Ginger 1 tbsp dry coconut 1 tbsp poppy seeds(khus khus)not(Cous Cous) 1 tbsp Raisins Salt to taste 2 tsp cumin and coriander seeds......Mix everything and make a paste with little water. Leave a side. Method:- Boil potatoes in salty water about 8-9 minutes or till just tender. Peel the skin and prick them. Mix half masala into the potatoes and leave it for about half an hour. Heat the oil in a pan and add cumin and coriander seeds and asafoetida , after spullter add the remaining masala and potatoes. Mix well cook about 3-4 minutes more and ready to serve.
