Baby Talk

By Chefdruck Musings (Visit website)

Elevated view of a baby (6-12 months) with its arm stretched out

I was tucking Jack in the other night when he started fast forwarding to the future.

"Mommy, soon Juliette will be 2, then 3, then 4, then 10."

Just hearing those digits made me cringe.

"Hold on there buddy. Don't rush things. She's still little."

"But Mommy, her birthday is soon. And then she'll have another birthday. And I will too. We're all getting BIGGER. Soon we'll be growed up."

I sighed and held him tight before answering, "I know, I know. You're all getting big so fast. It makes me want to have another little baby."

He looked up at me, completely surprised and stopped a minute before he commented.

"Mommy! You can't make a baby now! It's bedtime."
