Baked Mozzarella Garlicky String Fries Recipe
A simple potato side dish, made into string style cuts and dressed up with Italian spices and melted mozzarella, full of flavor and crispy goodness. I love mine with bacon bits and sour cream. But most of my family just like the extra cheese and garlicky flavors. Either way, baked is the healthier version, they will come out tasting like their fried and the lower fat cheese make these taste sinful! Great with grilled lemon chicken breast, and a hearts of romaine salad. 2 large Idaho potatoes peeled and sliced Julienne style or long thin potato cuts. 1 clove minced garlic 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper, garlic powder and cayenne pepper is optional 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil sea salt aluminum foil cookie sheet In a large bowl add olive oil, potatoes, garlic and spices mix well. Spread oiled potatoes onto a cookie sheet that has been lined with tin foil. Bake at 430 degrees until crispy and browned. Five minutes before done, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with sea salt. Options: add bacon bits, saute' mushrooms, hot sauce, sour cream, salsa, chopped tomatoes, black olives. You can add anything you like for topping after the mozzarella has melted. related searches : Baked
