Banana and orange surprise

By Food and Drink (Visit website)

Last week’s Come Dine With Me was hilarious, as it always is. Brian Moore was the standout contestant ? on the first night (a James Bond themed night that saw two embarrassed girls covered in gold paint) he was so drunk he kept saying everything was phenomenal.

His closed drunken eyes were a common theme throughout the week. But it was his menu that made for the biggest laugh. Leave aside the fact that Brian decided to create his whole menu from a budget store (the starter was a cheese pâté, which was basically cheese all mixed up and a bean dish which was tinned tuna mixed with canned kidney beans) and you get to his dessert.

What a laugh, it’s the funniest recipe I’ve ever watched on TV. The recipe on the website does it more justice than Brian did. Here’s the gist - he cut a banana in half, placed it on a plate and put a few segments of tangerine (which looked like they came from a tin), put a bit of sugar over it and used a can of whipped cream to smear all over it (because apparently double cream doesn’t work). What a laugh. It was an old ‘un, but definitely a good ‘un. Well done Brian on the worst dessert ever created by anyone over the age of six.
