Beautiful Body Image

By Nikes and Ponytails (Visit website)

I will be the first one to admit that I am a sucker for some celebrity gossip and reading the tabloids, it entertains me and quite frankly I check Perez Hilton more frequently than email, it's just what I do.

However I have recently been reading some other sites that discuss weight among celebrities, dissecting every part of their body and this is just nuts. I am getting to that point where I like many others I have no doubt compare myself to them and then determine because I am not at my goal weight I am not beautiful.

Well as Caitlin says over at Healthy Tipping Point fat talk is the problem. We are all beautiful regardless of some junk in the trunk, cellulite on your thighs or a some soft skin around your middle. We need to learn to love ourselves as we are, that is not to say that we can't still want to get fitter and healthier, but that is what we need to do get healthier, not get scary skinny because that is what all the celebs are doing.

As a culture how do we fix problems like this?

Personally I think it is a problem that can't be ignored, but getting messages across like this as fantastic as they are and beneficial to some, others won't care about the promotions we do for it until they actually feel it.

So this month (yeah starting a few days late) I plan on writing why I think I am beautiful, what about me do I love. It is something small and simple for myself and I hope you join in with me.

Number One.

My most favorite thing about myself is my eyes. I love them and get complimented on them frequently. They are big and bright blue, I also have eyelashes, though they look bald without mascara, with that are awesome, several times I have been asked if I am wearing fake eyelashes. But nope, not here, just my own beautiful eyes. I love that it sets me apart in my family too, with a family full of brown eyed people, my baby blues just set me apart.

Although I myself am on a quest to get healthier and feel more comfident about myself, I am going to do my best to banish all fat talk. I am going to stop comparing myself to everyone else, I am not going to say I can't try that new class at the gym because I am too out of shape to do it. Not me, not this month.

I still plan to cut down on my coffee intake, focus on eating healthy, filling foods with a couple of cheats in there, hello I am human and I am totally staring down some NicoBella truffles that I need to review, but also get to the gym at least 3 times a week, that should be a pretty reasonable goal for me.

Who is joining in? What do you feel is your most beautiful feature?
