Because you asked...

Posted the20/06/2009 By Hey, that tastes good! (Visit website)

Here are a whole bunch of wedding pictures. There are about 1,000 or so floating around the internet, including a whole bunch in our flickr pool. I haven't even finished going through other people's, there are so many. It was such a wonderful day. We were married by my sister Dana, at a beautiful, old house in Amherst, Massachusetts. The weather was perfect, the food was so awesome, and the day was just perfect.

The photo above is one of my favorites. I'm hiding in the kitchen before the ceremony, out of sign of Alex, trying to down a big cup of wine to soothe my nerves. All these pictures are out of order, bear with me. To see more, check out our flickr pool or my flickr. I might make a honeymoon post later if you guys are interested.

Before the wedding, we set up picnic blankets with pillows on the lawn. I bought a bunch of cheap regular sized pillows and cut them in half and sewed them closed, Alexs mom sewed pillowcases for them. We had a few tables, but most people sat on the grass.

Our caterer was the BBQ company Holy Smokes, and man were they great. All their stuff (except obvious things like corn bread and pasta salad) is gluten-free, and a bunch of it is vegan. We served ribs and chicken, salad, green beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and beans. This is my best friend eating ribs.

Betwen the dinner and the dancing, there was an impromptu wiffleball game. Everyone got involved.
Then there was dancing, inside.

For our guest book, we used an idea that Marlow posted on her GF bride to be blog, we had everyone write us notes that we sealed into a wooden wine box with a nice bottle of wine. We'll open it in a few years, and remember our wedding.

The picnic was so nice.

This is the building and the lawn, we were married around the side of the building on the steps.

First dance.

The building, the Amherst Woman's Club, was furnished with period pieces. It was so cool.

I surprisingly didn't spill any pie or bbq on my dress, which might have been a first for me. I am an adult now.

Look at all those pies.

Picnic loungers.

Alex and his mom.

Me and my mom.

My dad giving his toast. This was really cool. His toast was about the book 'Where the Wild Things Are', and Alexs best man's speech was about the song 'Wild Thing', they tied together really well, and not on purpose.

Aaaaand here's what the day was all about. The ceremony.

Now I am a mrs., even though I did keep my name. My friend Kait wrote a really nice post about the day, with some more pictures, here.
