BLAT-The Bacon Lettuce Avocado Turkey Burger
1 lb 90 percent lean turkey meat 1 T Worcestershire 1 T Nomato ketchup, or use regular ketchup 1 t creole seasoning, I prefer Tony Chacere's 3 T onion, diced 1 large garlic clove, minced 6 teaspoons light mayo 1 small avocado, sliced 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked following directions* Few handfuls of mixed greens or whatever lettuce you like. Mix turkey meat, Worcestershire, ketchup, creole seasoning, onion and garlic. Form into 4 patties around 1 inch thick and grill on a lightly oiled rack over medium high heat until they are cooked through, usually 6-7 minutes each side. Remove from grill, cover and rest for 5 minutes. * For the turkey bacon, I prefer Eating Right brand. The slices are a combination of dark/light meat and are thick. I follow the oven preparation directions on the package. You could also use regular bacon and prepare following oven directions to bake out more of the fat. Place a handful of greens on plate, top with burger, 1-1/2 teaspoon mayo, 1 slice turkey bacon and 1/4 avocado. Yummy!!
