I had my first ?blogiversary? last week. According to the newly launched BlogOh!Pedia I can thank a Canuck in Cancun for coining the word for the anniversary of the first appearance of a blog.

The BlogOh!Pedia was set up by the organisers of the inaugural Chapeau Blog Awards. I was first made aware of these awards via a call for entries which plopped into my emailbox late last month. I was breathlessly invited to take advantage of a specially discounted entry fee of $US195 if I entered my blog by November 14.

Breathless myself, I certainly wasn?t contemplating donating $AUD309.146 to a lost cause. But I scanned the Chapeau site to see what the winner of 2009?s Most Brilliant Blog might win. If only 3-400 people entered, that would still be a fair prize pool. I couldn?t find any prizes mentioned so I politely emailed to ask them what the brilliant one could expect to collect. Back came the reply?

Possibly there wasn?t a great rush to beat the November 14 deadline because that?s now been extended to November 30 and the Chapeau people have launched the BlogOh!Pedia, which they?ve billed as ?the ultimate destination for those seeking to learn about the language of bloggers?. The dangling carrot is that any blogger submitting an accepted phrase for the 'pedia before November 30 will get a complimentary entry into the awards.

There are a few chuckles in the submissions. I like
Togger - A blogger who blogs about clothes and fashionsWriter?s Blog - The unfortunate experience of not having any idea what to blog about.Blugh - That feeling that you get when you haven?t blogged in a couple of days and you are sitting in front of you computer with your hands on the keyboard? but nothing is happening.
And if the BlogOh!Pedia doesn?t get off the ground, it can be written off as a Weak-a-Pedia ? ?A failed attempt at creating an on-line reference guide?.
