Breakfast Panini
Recipe & Photo Credit - Australian Women's Weekly Breakfast Panini Serves: 2 Preparation Time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 4 minutes Ingredients 4 slices of whole grain bread ( thinly sliced ) 4 sliced reduced fat cheese 1 apple, cored, thinly sliced 2 slices ham 1 teaspoon salted butter, softened Method Layer each of 2 bread slices with 1 cheese slice, half the apple slices, 1 ham slice, 1 more cheese slice. Top each sandwich with remaining bread slices and spread the top of that slice with a thin layer of butter. Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Put sandwiches in, buttered side down, and place a plate on top of sandwich to weigh them down. Cook for about 1 1/2 minutes so bottoms are golden brown. Remove plate and spread remaining butter on top of sandwiches. Flip sandwiches, weigh down with the plate and cook for another 1 1/2 minutes, or until golden. Cut sandwiches in half to serve.
