Bring on the Sparkle

Day 1 - Soo Here I go! First blog, website, post ever...! First "project" assigned was to create a creative assignment for my english class about the book we just finished reading. The PoisonWood Bible. Eh... not so fun, but at least I turned it around a little and was able to create my drawing out of cake! Yay! Pondering pictures in my head.. thinking is this really going to work? Well, we'll see how it goes tomorrow :-P

Day 2 - Voila' ! Here it is....! A combination of using frosting, fondant, m&ms, and chocolate bars, it turned out not to be as hard as I thought! and I actually enjoyed making it. :) If you haven't read the book, then this picture might be kinda tricky to understand. Anyway..The quote "Forest eats itself and Lives Forever" is what the picture of the forest is based on. The mother and her four girls are all holding hands connected by decorating gel. To the far left is the youngest daughter, who sadly died by a snake. So I made her out of white chocolate instead to represent her as a ghost. Down below in the dirt, is the evil Father who is tangled by the red candy snake. The 5 girls are all reaching to the sun for a better life, while the Father ends up alone and dies due to his decisions.
