Burger Lounge, San Diego, CA
I had one of my best burger encounters on a recent trip to the west coast. I made a few attempts to go to In-N-Out burger but every time I showed up the lines went out the door. I never got that In-N-Out burger, so that will have to wait. I found myself wandering around downtown San Diego when I came across a burger joint called Burger Lounge. Burger Lounge isn’t your common hamburger spot. It has a hip modern look and it proudly advertises it’s Green Restaurant Certification and ‘tall grass fed beef’. They offer three types of burgers. Your choices are the grass fed beef burger, a turkey burger with fresh basil, or their vegetarian burger made with organic quinoa. I decided to go traditional and ordered a beef burger with fries. The best word to describe this burger is ‘balance’. The bun was flaky but soft. The beef patty was crisp on the outside but juicy and tender on the inside. I was very impressed by how perfectly crispy the outside of the burger was. This was the type of burger where the juice drips out when you take the first bite. Very flavorful. Along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and thousand island sauce this burger was the perfect mix of everything delicious. The fries were sprinkled with herbs which made them a perfect addition to the burger. The service was also very friendly and attentive. I’m an east coast boy, but Burger Lounge certainly made me feel at home in California. -platypusfactory related searches : Burger
