Chinese New Year Cakes Galore!

We had a grant time at our 2009 Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. Often times I look forward to the kids coming home with their friends to enjoy a meal with us. To celebrate the year of the Ox, I've prepared a traditional ten course meal, with auspicous meanings and good luck. For dessert, Steven baked a carrot cake and Marcus a chocolate cheesecake. You can imagine how stuff we were that night! Here's the menu for that evening: New Year Salad; Lotus Root with Red Dates Soup; Loh Hon Chye; Steamed Pomfret; Baby Bok Choy with Oyster Sauce; Spicy Crab; Spicy Fragrant Prawns; Chinese BBQ Pork Ribs; Chicken Rice; Dessert.
