Chocolate Chip Cookie Oatmeal

I've cut way back on eating sweets for the past two weeks but the other morning I needed a little bit of a sugar fix.

I have a long-standing love affair with cookie dough so the most logical thing for me was to make oatmeal. Well, oatmeal that tastes like chocolate chip cookie dough.

Don't get too scared though, this isn't that bad - only 1 tsp of sugar and 1 tbsp of mini chocolate chips per serving.

And it is so so SO good.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Oatmeal

1/2 C oats
1 C milk (skim, 2/%, soy, whatever you like, just don't use water)
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp brown sugar
1 TBS mini chocolate chips
1 TBS chopped walnuts


Microwave the oats, milk, and salt for about 6 minutes at 50% power (or cook on the stove top until desired consistency).

Remove from microwave and stir in vanilla extract then sprinkle brown sugar, chocolate chips, and walnuts on top. Enjoy!
