Confession
confession: I?ve never had a fresh fig before. I see so many interesting fruits and vegetables on these blogs but since I don?t go grocery shopping I don?t always get the opportunity to check this stuff out. On the other hand, not going shopping means that my head doesn?t get turned by every new product I see. With Dan away last weekend I had an opportunity to go shopping and lo and behold I saw some figs at Whole Foods. These were pretty good. I think they could have used a pinch of salt and a bit longer in the oven.
Roasted Figs fresh figs freshly ground pepper (optional) Preheat oven to 400.
Trim the stems off the figs and cut in half. Place figs in a casserole dish cut side up. Drizzle the figs with agave, olive oil, and freshly ground pepper. Roast for 15 minutes.
