Congratulations Anthony Garcia!
Posted by johngl
Sometimes, during blind tastings, I get completely and utterly topped off listening to other folks ramble about wine. I can only handle just so many renditions of “the aroma reminds of a time during my childhood when I was sitting in a fresh cut field of alfalfa.” Right. They’ve probably never seen a field of alfalfa, let alone sat in one. Anthony, on the other hand, is a very quiet man. No pontification here. He examines the wine in the glass thoughtfully, takes in the aroma, tastes a bit, then takes his shot at what he’s drinking. When he speaks about wine, I listen. He is a man of few words and each word has great meaning. The way he handles a bottle during a pour, the way he places the cork in front of you, the way he wipes that little drip from the lip of the bottle is a perfectly choreographed display and his seamless execution can only be a result of years of practice. No doubt about it, Anthony is a true professional. Now he gets to augment his grey suit with this lovely little pin: While it doesn’t look like much, this little lapel pin is the culmination of years of dedication and no one deserves it more than Anthony. Please join me in the celebration of his success! Please head over to his blog where he shares his experiences in: Passing the Advanced Examination for the Court of Master Sommeliers, A Team Effort- August 31st, 2009 related searches : Congratulations
