Damp!

By Marens Morsels (Visit website)

Hey friends, good morning. It?s still very wet here in California. I?m drinking coffees and teas like crazy.

I?m not even going to lie,

I LOVE RAIN!

I always have. It?s probably an association to getting to stay inside during recess in elementary school. We?d pray for rain so we could eat at our desks, play little games like Mancala, and read.

This morning I slept a little late due to the soothing raindrops and my late night last night. But when I finally crawled out of bed at 9:20 I put on the coffee.

It is raining!

Breakfast

I felt like a good old egg and jam sandwich when I saw the new bag of mini bagels in the bread basket.

I don?t know what it is about this simple little breakfast that I love so much. But boy do I love it.

I used a plain old Sarah Lee mini bagel, with a strawberry jam smear, and a salt and pepper seasoned fried egg. Yummm!

I also sweetened my coffee with some almond dream.

Gotta love the roll?

rock with it, roll with it?

rolls?.

On a side note?

I get to go teach 7th and 8th graders from the local middle school how to play basketball today. For the next three days I?ve been asked to run the girl?s practices. I can?t wait.

My brain is going crazy with drills to run and teaches to do.

Unfortunately each team only practices for an hour and only on half the court. This is definitely not enough time and by only playing on the half court the girls are at a disadvantage during actual games.

I know the teams have lost quite a few games and I think that it is probably a reflection of not having enough time during practice to teach skills and because the girls aren?t practicing on a full court. Losing isn?t fun, I?m sure some of the girls are wishing they hadn?t decided to play this year.

I wish there was a way to fix the program and maybe get an hour and a half practice a couple days a week and some full court time a couple times a week. I really want to keep girls involved in afterschool sports (especially basketball since it?s my favorite). Maybe after these 3 days and the 3 days I?ll do in January I can talk to the athletic director and see what we can work out.

Well, I?m off. I have less than an hour to get practice ready. I also have PT at 1pm! Cookie Time!

Did you play sports in middle school?
