O enólogo da De Martino prima por trabalhar com varietais e busca extrair vinhos de vinhas velhas, com isso seus produtos apresentam bastante concentração e são poderosos. Sergio Valente em viagem a Porto Alegre recomenda o De Martino Alto de Piedras Carmenére 2007.


Segundo a publicação Descorchados 2009 o vinho possui grande maturidade e taninos fortes que marcam bastante na boca. A publicação diz que este vinho é “para o futuro”. Mas parece que o Sergio gostou bastante dele “agora mesmo”. Produzido na Ilha de Maipo no Chile.
