Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup milk
- 8 apples
- 8 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoon butter
- Cinnamon and sugar

Preparation:
- Sift flour, baking powder, and salt
- Cut in shortening.
- Add milk and stir
- Knead lightly on floured board
- Roll 1/8 inch thick
- Divide dough into 8 parts
- Pare and core apples and place one apple on each section of dough
- Fill hollow of each apple with one tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon butter
- Fold dough over apple, pressing edges together
- Place in shallow pan and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Dot with remaining butter.
- Bake at 400F for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve with cream.
