Dinner report card
I love the ease and convenience of using the crock pot to make dinner. The one problem I have is that the resulting food doesn't generally make for the best food photography. Upon grading our dinner the other night, I gave it an A for taste and a D for looks. I changed up a recipe for Poylnesian Pork I found on Recipe Zaar a bit, and it made for a tasty, although not so pretty dinner!
Polynesian Pork Chops printable recipe Ingredients 6-8 pork chops, trimmed 1 onion, sliced 1 garlic clove, minced 1 inch fresh ginger, grated 1tsp salt 1tsp pepper 1 20oz can of pineapple tidbits 1/2 tidbit can of water 2tbsp cornstarch 1/3C apple cider vinegar 2tsp soy sauce 1tsp brown sugar 1/2tsp salt 1/2tsp pepper Directions Place all ingredients up to the cornstarch into the crock pot. Cook on low for 8-9 hours. Remove meat, onion and pineapple with a slotted spoon to a sering platter or bowl. Pour the remaining liquid into a saucepan. Whisk together the remaining ingredients and add to the liqiud in the saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until thickened. Pour over chops and serve. I served this with orzo, but it would be good with rice also. This was pretty good. The hubby thought it wasn't quite sweet enough. I think he was expecting more of a sweet an sour flavor. You may want to incraese the brown sugar to 2tsp. related searches : Dinner
