Dosa and Masala dosa recipe

Masala Dosa
Masala Dosa is an extremely popular dosa in across India. It comprises potato curry placed in the center of the dosa .It is ideally served with sambar and molga podi.(dry chutney).

The adjoining photograph shows the curry separately and the Molga podi (dry chutney)

Preparation of the potato curry
Ingredients:
Potatoes boiled and mashed -3 Sliced Onions ? 5 Green Chillies ? 4 Coriander leaves For seasoning , take 1 tea spoon of mustard seeds

Preparation:
Take oil in a frying pan and add the mustard seeds and let them splutter.Add the sliced green chillies onions and salt and fry them till the onions get cooked.Add little turmeric powder. This imparts a lovely colour to the curry.Now add the mashed potatoes and cook for 5 minutes.Add a few coriander leaves.
Preparation of Dosa batter
Ingredients
White lentils -1 cupRice - 3 cupsSoak the white lentils and the rice separately in water for a few hours. Drain and wash with

water before grinding them into a fine paste. Add some salt and leave it overnight at room

temperature for fermentation.

Dosa is ideal for breakfast and this is the way to make it.
Take a non stick pan and spread some oil on it.Take a small portion of the batter and spread it out into a thin circle and fry it with oil till it is golden brown. Once golden brown, flip it on the pan to cook the other side as well.The dosa is now ready and can be served with the potato curry ,dry chutney(molga podi) or the coriander chutney/ tomato pickle.
