Gift cookies

Ingredients

• 2/3 cup granulated sugar
• 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/2 cup butter or margarine
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 large eggs
• 3 cups oats
• 1 cup all purpose flour
• 1 heaping cup butterscotch chips

Preparation

• Heat oven to 375 degrees.
• Beat all ingredients together except oats, flour and butterscotch chips, in a large bowl with an electric mixer.
• Stir in cups of oats one at a time then add the flour and chips.
• Drip dough by tablespoon fulls onto cookie sheets. Bake 9-11 minutes or until lightly brown. Makes about 3 dozen.
