Eggs for Dinner/Eggs for breakfast

By Food In Real Life (Visit website)

I love eggs. They are totally my go-to food when I don't have something planned. I like them cooked with veggies and cheese, or dippy style,  or even sweetened up when mixed with cinnamon roll protein powder and topped with cinnamon and sf syrup (aka egg white french toast)

Last night's din din

1 dippy egg, 2 egg whites, an an Arnold thin with 2% cheese melted on one side. I also had a side of cottage cheese, diced apple and pb. I was craving some fats last night, I could tell. Hence the yolk, cheese, and pb.

Ok, sooooo let's be real now. Since that is what this blog is all about. Last night I was attacked by Hermits.

I totally ate about 5 of them. That was not good considering they are about 80 calories each.  But they were so small, chewy and delicious and I was a bottomless pit that got misguided. Don't get me wrong, I'm not freaking about about 400 calories, I just can think of a lot of better ways to have used them to satisfy my hunger.

I was still hungry after my dinner, and now that I look back on what I ate yesterday, I see why. I was low on fats and overall calories and had done a very strenuous cardio workout earlier in the day.

Instead of reaching for a healthy small meal to quiet the hungry beast

I reached for something to satisfy my MOUTH HUNGER instead of my BODY'S HUNGER. This is pretty common I think, its an easy impulse to reach for something like a simple carb that is yummy and convenient instead of hearing what your body is really asking for.

I just wanted to share this experience since I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done this before

RIGHT PEOPLE?? Speak out please!

Anyhow, this morning I put all of those extra carbs and sugar to work with an awesome cardio and lower body workout. After a not so good day of eating, you just have to get back on the horse. This is something that is easier said than done, but I'm trying to get good at it :)

I was starving when I got home and made a big power packed breakfast.

3 egg whites, 1 whole egg cooked up with mushrooms and spinach and a little bit of cheese. On the side I had some flax z snacks made with chocolate almond breeze. Pretty good!

(these aren't the most photogenic food item)

What are you all doing this weekend? HAPPY FRIDAY!
