Elements Heritage

By Bangalore restaurants- On my plate (Visit website)

With the number of restaurants opening in Bangalore, there are days when we spend an hour at least trying to decide where we want to go. After all those deliberations if the restaurant turns out to be a dud then you feel all the more miserable... but if it turns out to be something like Elements Heritage, then your week is made. This review is spread over two visits. The first thing that you see at Elements Heritage is the decor. There are water bodies filled with goldfish, palms and greenery all around. The seating and decor is a mix of wood, bamboo and a lot of decorative cushions.

You could choose to sit in the semi-outdoors or on the mezzanine which has an entire ceiling done up in lamps. Both times we went there we choose to sit in the semi-open. The first time in this small alcove overlooking the chefs at work on the tandoor and the second time we sat in one of the semi-open verandahs. Both great spots.

The menu at Elements is extensive and there is great choice for the veggies as well. Let me start with what we drank. The first time round it was a Blueberry Ice tea and a lime soda, both nice. The second time Sudhakar tried Elements Special Mocktail, a basic fruit punch which was just about ok. Now because we visited this place twice and ordered quite a few dishes both times round, the starters and the main courses are in the slide shows. There is only one way to describe all it and that is the food will have you wanting to go back for more. You will curse yourself for overdoing the starters when the main course arrives. And for those whose appetites are small, share a main course.

And yes, since the food is great, you will stuff yourself silly, but do keep place for some of their desserts. We had the Shahi Tukde the first time and loved the crunchy star shaped pieces of sweet bread. The second time we had the Malai Phirni and the Gulab Jamun with ice-cream. The phirni is creamy and rich and three of us shared it.

Elements Heritage is for those days when going home and sleeping is the only agenda after food. I loved the platters that the food was served on. It made the food look good and kept everything in its place. A meal for two here will come Rs 1000, give or take a bit if you have a starter, 2 drinks, 2 main courses and a dessert. For those who love paya and bheja, this place makes it good. Of all the main courses, I really loved the Lal Masale ki Ghosht. The loo here is clean.
