Fast Food Chain Adventures: Popeyes
Their is a Popeyes right next to McDonald's on Delancy Street. Usually McD's is my goto for a quick fast food fix but today I decided to give Popeyes a go. Yes it's ridiculously fattening and yes it's it makes you feel a little sick post consumption, but DAMMNNNN it's good. I ordered #2 from the "Real Meals" menu, a 2-piece spicy fried chicken (thigh and breast), side of mac and cheese, biscuit, and medium drink for $6.44. The chicken is moist, juicy, and tastes like chicken (McDonald's chicken nuggets are delicious but don't really taste like chicken) but the breading O MY GOD amazing. Crispy, good spice, well seasoned, and not too thick, its got that nice flakey breading like real Southern fried chicken. It's far superior to KFC's extra thick and over seasoned breading.
The mac and cheese was OK for a fast food chain. I'd say Boston Market and even KFC is a bit better. The biscuit, however, was way better than KFC. A thin crispy outside and moist inside, pretty good for a fast food chain. Awesome related searches : Fast
