February Visiting Teaching handout
![]() Here is another Visiting Teaching idea. I made Quick Candy Cookies and attached the following quotes: Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: "The basic doctrinal purpose for the Creation of the earth is to provide for God's spirit children the continuation of the process of exaltation and eternal life. . . . ; " . . . Although there is simply not a more significant contribution you can make to society, to the Church, or to the eternal destiny of our Father's children than what you will do as a mother or father, motherhood and fatherhood are not the only measures of goodness or of one's acceptance before the Lord. . . . "Every sister in this Church who has made covenants with the Lord has a divine mandate to help save souls, to lead the women of the world, to strengthen the homes of Zion, and to build the kingdom of God" ("Women of Righteousness," Liahona, Dec. 2002, 36, 39; Ensign, Apr. 2002, 68, 70). Silvia H. Allred, first counselor in the Relief Society general presidency: "The Lord has blessed women with divine attributes of love, compassion, kindness, and charity. Through our monthly visits as visiting teachers, we have the power to bless each sister as we extend our arms of love and kindness and give the gifts of compassion and charity. No matter what our individual circumstances are, we all have the opportunity to edify and nurture others" ("Feed My Sheep," Liahona and Ensign, Nov. 2007, 113). President Spencer W. Kimball (1895-1985): "To be a righteous woman during the winding up scenes on this earth, before the second coming of our Savior, is an especially noble calling. The righteous woman's strength and influence today can be tenfold what it might be in more tranquil times" ("Privileges and Responsibilities of Sisters," Ensign, Nov. 1978, 103). It was also the birthday of one of the sister's that we visiting teach. We bought some lotion from Bath & Body works and put it in a bag and tied it with some ribbon with a cute birthday card attached. I hope these give you some fun ideas for visiting teaching. I like this quote from President Barbara Winder (Relief Society President 1984-1990): "Visiting teaching gives us an opportunity to learn how to follow the Savior. As we extend love and unselfish service, we become instruments of the Lord, helping in times of physical, emotional and spiritual need to touch hearts and change lives. Visiting teaching is the very essence of the gospel and gives us the opportunity to practice the principals found in Mosiah 18:8-9: wiling to bear one an other's burdens, . . . willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times, . . . that [we] may have eternal life." I hope you have a wonderful month visiting teaching. You never know what effect you may have on the sister's you visit. :) related searches : February
