Feed your Friends & Family on Moving Day

By Feed The Sink (Visit website)

So you’re moving from your current abode (be it a hobbit hole or a mansion) and you’ve enlisted a few of your finest friends and family to help you move your fragile Star Wars collectibles collection.  Now that you’ve got all these free hands moving things and the last box has been brought in, you’re likely to have very many free and hungry mouths to feed.

In a perfect world we’d have the entire affair catered, but we know how busy the weeks leading up to the big move can be, so what can you offer your friends and family to eat?  You could take the easy road and ordering in some greasy Chinese food, cardboard pizza or tasteless subs.  If you’re looking for healthy options that are easy to prepare, read on by clicking the read more link below.

Finger Foods

These are the easiest to purchase and prepare out of all the foods and if your moving crew is anything like me, they will likely want to snack on food throughout the day.  These little morsels of food make that a possibility.  Here are some basic ideas:

Veggie & Fruit Trays
Cheese, Crackers, Salami & Spreads
Random frozen appetizers (to be heated in the oven)
Chips & dip
Salsa/guacamole & tortilla chips

Drinks

If you’re moving in the dead of summer, you’ll want some cool drinks, where as if you are moving in the dead of winter, and live in Canada, you’ll want to slap yourself silly and plan to move in the summer.  I guess if you absolutely have to move during winter months, get some warm drinks for your moving crew:

Lemonade
Water
Hot Tea/Coffee/Chocolate
Beer, beer, and more beer
Wine, coolers
Pop

Meal Ideas

If you feel the need to cook up a meal, and want to save time while providing your movers with tasty food, here are a few ideas:

Homemade pizzas (use tortillas as the dough)
Spaghetti & Meatballs with Garlic Bread
Nachos
Wings
Chili / Stew / Baked Beans with fresh bread

Desserts

Nothing says ‘Job Well Done!’ like dessert and here are a few ideas to treat your hard workers:

Ice Cream Cones / Sundaes
Cheesecake
Brownies
Popsicles
