Finding Peace
This morning my mom and I ventured to The Lotus Pond, a new Kripalu studio about 25 minutes north. The studio is actually a branch off of MY yoga studio here and my class package is good at both places so after today, I think I’ll definitely be back for more. Look at how peaceful!
The studio was located on a 4.5 acre wilderness retreat and had a community garden in the back. The owner, Val’s, husband started the garden for all of us yogis to just have a place to go and plant and pick veggies. How amazing! There was kale, carrots, lettuce, brussels sprouts, summer squash, tomatoes, corn and much more—all for the taking. My mom and I picked a plethora of kale (the freshest I’ve ever seen), carrots, squash and onions. You can’t get better than that!
And then we had our picnic—look at the goodies I packed!
Doctor Kracker Sunflower Cheddar crackers, Sabra’s garlic hummus, stuffed grape leaves, blue cheese stuffed olives, mediterranean tuna salad and buffalo mozzarella kabobs with tomato and basil. My plate:
A tiny bit of the tuna salad (I mainly got this for my mom since its her fav!), a cracker with hummus, two stuffed olives, a caprese kabob and two stuffed grapes leaves. With a cranberry soda, it was perfect
Its a pretty solemn day for us but my mom really enjoyed this morning and couldn’t ask for a better Mother’s Day. The yoga class was great—very gentle but that’s what I was looking for because I’m pretty tight from my run yesterday and still can’t manage many chatarungas because of my wrist. Today there were lots of deeeeeeep stretches and long child’s poses. Exactly what I needed and I can’t wait to wash up these veggies that I picked! I’m off to shower and go see Earth with my parents. See you in a bit!
