Flatbread
Easy bread which is perfect to go on the side, or to make a sandwich. I usually make these and store them in thr refrigerator so that i can make sandwiches for lunch and some times grilled flat breads for evening light dinner. Its a time saver especially when you wanna fix your lunch in mins.
Grilled flat breadPreparation time = 20 mins (Excl. dough resting time) Serves = 4 Calories = Approx 120 / Flat bread INGREDIENTS - 2 Cups All purpose flour 3/4 Luke warm water 1/2 Tsp Active yeast 1 Tsp Salt 1 Tbsp Sugar 1 Tbsp Olive oil 2 Tbsp Milk (Optional) PREPARATION- 1. Mix yeast in luke warm water along with salt and sugar and allow to proof for 5 mins. 2. Now add oil & milk to the yeast mixture and mix well. 3. Take the flour in a large vessel. Add the mixed liquid to the flour and mix the flour well until it comes together. Once the dough is formed, spray the bowl and the dough with some non stick cooking spray and allow to double by placing it in a warm place. (1-2 hours). Cover with a damp towel. 4. Now take the dough out and knead it. Divide the dough into whatever size balls you want and allow to rest for another 15 mins. Cover with a damp paper towel. 5 If you want to make these in the oven preheat it to 500*F or whatever is the highest temperature on you oven. I make mine on the grill so i preheat my grill 5 mins before my dough is ready. 6. Now roll the dough ball into your desired shape. I usually make them round and rectangle. 7. Now bake them in the oven for 2 mins on each side. I grill them a minute or so on each side. If you are making these to use as sandwiches do not over cook them as when you grill them the second time they would be crisp but not soft and you don't want that. Serve these with your favorite hummus, curry, make a sandwich, grill it or do anything. Get creative and enjoy!!! ©Sasha posted 2011 related searches : Flatbread
