Flexi-8 Hair Clip Review & Giveaway (Canada & USA) 09/24

As everyone knows by now, I have been playing around with my hair lately. I have been growing out my layers and wearing it more straight. For those of you with longer hair, I am sure you will agree that sometimes it can be a little boring just having straightened hair. So now that I have some length to play with the question is what to do. Well, the pony tail is the style of choice at home. The first thing I do when I walk in the door from work is wash my face and pull my hair back. Now that the fall is closely approaching and the wind and rain is so unpredictable it is time to get creative with my hair.

Today?s new product review is on the Flexi-8. The Flexi-8 has been compared to the “wonder-bra for hair.” With that I had to find out more. This barrette style hair clip is like none other you have ever used. It is extremely versatile. You can use the Flexi-8 to create lots of sophisticated, fun or even flirty hair styles. They are so beautiful and will be suitable for anyone?s personal style. Now for the really cool part. The Flexi-8 comes in a total of 6 different sizes. Now you might be asking “why” Well like a good bra it is NOT one size fits all. Some people have thick hair, curly hair, thin hair, straight hair and so on. It also depends on what hair style you are wishing to achieve. It is one great idea that can replace what you are currently using or used in combination with other hair accessories and ties.

This company has been in the hair goods business since 1992. It all started when John Dorsey?s wife bought some materials in hope to creating some fashionable hair items for herself but instead ended up buying them at retail store (Nordstrom) instead. John took the materials to the garage and started creating some styles myself. In no time at all friends had found out and started buying them all up. Before long John was suppling major retailers nationwide. But the line expanded and contracted and they were solely at the mercy of what the huge retailer did or didn?t sell for them. Then 911 hit and everything changed. Everything John tried failed and they could hardly make rent payments. Down but not out John?s wife sent him to the garage with an ultimatum. “Get out those beads and wire and make something and go sell it or else”. That is exactly what he did. He discovered that the most supplies he had left were for the Flexi-8 design and he set to work. He then ventured out to a local market with barely enough money for lunch in his pockets. He arrived home that night with over $1,0000.00. There was hope. From there John set out on a new venture. Market the Flex-8 and enjoy the benefits of direct selling. He continued demonstrating the Flex-8 and once people realized how it actually worked they were hooked. Today the Flex-8 clip has received wonderful response from all over the world and they have been shipped to over 38 Countries. Missy and John Dorsey have really created a useful and beautiful hair clip that looks great and is so easy to us.

So you can imagine how excited I was to receive not only one but five different sizes of the Flex-8 clips to try out. Soon as they arrived, I was very impressed. They are very beautifully designed. Each one is beautifully adorned with metal beadwork. The construction is very strong and durable and they feel quite heavy when you first pick them up. I love that they came with a handy instruction sheet showing me some unique and adorable hair styles I could create using the Flexi-8.

The timing of this product testing couldn?t have been better.. My daughter was beginning her second day of going back to school and wanted to impress. She actually graduated high-school last June but has headed back this year of extra credits. Since she back upgrading her courses I think it was very important to look good after a long summer vacation off. So the next morning she got up early and started to twist and turn her hair into a large bun style and secured it with the Large size Flexi-8. She (who never fusses with her hair) was able to create a really wonderful look in a matter of seconds. She received compliments such as “you look so sophisticated an adorable all at the same time” Just what every 18 year old wants to hear. LOL. Today it was my turn. I allowed the same daughter to play hair-stylist with my hair. She looked at the styling sheet that come with the Flexi-8 and in a couple of seconds was admiring her work. I had a fancy up-do called tails up in no time. I marched downstairs and proudly presented myself to my husband. He thought it was really pretty and different for me. My hair is a lot finer than my daughters and the medium size Flexi-8 is perfect to hold all my hair up. On the other hand my daughter has to use the large and might even benefit from the extra-large. She has extremely long and thick wavy hair that is normally impossible to pin up with a standard claw clip.

So why does the Flexi-8 work when others don?t? It is because it is so darn flexible. The beaded area is actually a really thick memory wire that can easily be bent to accommodate different hair thicknesses and styles. Depending on what you want, there is a Flexi-8 that is right for you.

We both love our Flex-8 hair clips and have enjoyed experimenting with all the different and unique thing we can do with our hair since receiving the Flexi-8.
