Florida State Parks App
I’m a city girl. Y’all know that right? Born and raised in the shadow of NYC, concrete jungle and all that. I made my home in Ocala, FL twelve years ago – and I’ve been slowly coming around to the idea that I live in a world very different from the one I grew up in and while I have staunchly tried to hold on to the idea that I don’t “do” nature, the beauty of where I live is seeping into my bones, into my soul. Geographically, Florida is not all that different from Long Island, the marshlands and the swamps, the beaches and the coastline; but the tropical weather makes Florida seem like another world entirely. More and more, I’ve been exploring the natural beauty of Florida and become more interested in helping to preserve it for our children and our children’s children. The sheer amount of state parks is overwhelming and when I saw that there was an app specifically for exploring these places, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! The Florida State Parks app was created by Sanda Friend, author of eight books on Florida Hiking and a resident of my adopted hometown. Open the app and you’re presented with a couple of choices – you can search the parks by name, cost, distance or city – you can also search within those results by myriad keywords. Choose a park to explore and you’re presented with a warmly written description of the park including its history, keywords, costs, amenities, phone number, a gorgeous photo album and even a way to add your own comments regarding the park, share with a friend via email or mark it as a favorite. Choose the map function and if you allow the app to use your location, you’ll see all the parks in relation to your location, narrow it down by keyword from right within the map. Beautiful photos accompany each entry, or choose the slideshow option to browse these terrific shots. At 1.99 Florida State Parks is well worth the price. So beautifully done, it inspires you to plan your next trip. Whether you’re a resident of Florida, or planning your next visit, this app is well worth the cost. I can’t stop playing with it! *Full Disclosure: I received a promotional code for 1 (one) copy of Florida State Parks app from the author for this reviewSimilar Posts: related searches : Florida
