Food blogger ? camera = depression

Blogger depression set in today when I got to work and realized I’d left my camera at home!!  :(   My first thought, I’ll just go home at lunch and get it, but of course we had an in service over lunch today.  Boo!  Therefore, sorry for the lack of pics in this post…..


This morning I got up for a 6am workout.  I fueled up on a homemade protein bar and a mug of hot caffeine-free tea with 1 packet of truvia




These protein bars are super delicious!!  I’ve requested for permission to post the recipe……I hoping to post it soon!


This morning Kim and I met for another Insansity dvd.  I actually laid down on the floor after today’s dvd was over…..I was dying!!  Following the gym, I rushed home and got ready with mad-quickness for an 8am dentist appointment.  Barf.


Does anyone else very much dislike going to the dentist??  I swear, I’m a ball of tension by the time I leave there!  The dentist kindly told me today that it’s been 4 years since my last dentist appointment…whoops!  Hehe.  I could have sworn I went before I got married, but I guess not.  Thank goodness I’m apparently a good teeth brusher because even though it’s been 4 long years since my last dentist visit, I was cavity free!!!  :D


Following my dreadful dentist appointment, I came back home for breakfast and to pack my lunch.  I keep telling myself that I’m gonna make eggs, but when I get in the kitchen to fix breakfast, oats is all I want.




1/2 cup oats
1 cup water
1 tbsp wheat germ
1 banana (microwaved in oats)
Naturally More organic PB


Also had fresh ground Earth Fare coffee in the french press.  Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my french press and that it makes the most divine cup of coffee?!?!  Read my post, here, on how to use a french press.  My coffee was fixed with steamed skim milk and 1 truvia packet.


Off to work………


Depression sets in because this blogger realizes she forgot her camera……


Lunch was leftovers from last night……….Lemon basil pasta (topped with a spoonful of ricotta cheese) and some turnip-cauliflower mash.  I ate while sitting through an in service on positioning equipment for patients. Fun.


Snack was a Cinnamon Raisin Gnu bar.


I managed to get through my last couple of appointments without eating any children…….there was one that was kind of “snack-sized.”  I resisted though!  :)   So while finishing up at work and on the way home, I ate my original afternoon snack planned for today……Food Should Taste Good chips topped with strawberry salsa.  Seriously people, make this salsa SOON!!!!


When I got home, the hubs was already drooling over the last 1/4 of our 6in remake of our wedding cake.  Remember we froze half of it, ate 1/4 last night, and kept another 1/4 to eat today/tomorrow.  Well that cake’s fate ended tonight.



I enjoyed my last slice (until next year anyways) with a small glass of skim milk.


Well that was pretty much dinner.


I’m not kidding.


Food Should Taste Good chips + strawberry salsa + wedding cake = interesting dinner.  2/3 of those are clean-eating.  :)


Following “dinner” Russell and I packed the living room and coat closet…..YAY for 1 room being packed!!  Sissy supervised the packing…..




Ohh, I wanted to throw in 1 random thing I forgot yesterday.  You all know that POM Wonderful sent me some of the POM juice to taste-test.  I’ve decided that I’m not really a fan of it straight-up, but one of my readers suggested mixing it with water to create flavored water.  So that’s what I did yesterday.  I mixed the last 1/2 of a 8oz container of POM juice in a 32 oz nalgene of water.



Thanks for the suggestion! I really enjoyed my “flavored” water yesterday!  I’m sure I’ll be doing this again in the future.


Russell and I are house sitting, so we are off to feed the kitties.  Night!
