Ginger Beef
I love the combination of beef and ginger. This combination had a "je ne sais quoi" amazing! And every time I come across a ginger beef recipe, my month waters. So as soon as I saw this Ginger Beef from Blog Chef, I wanted to make it. And I made a good choice. This recipe was quick and easy to make. The only change I made to the original recipe is to do not fry my beef strips (I hate frying food at home). But the most important aspect of this recipe is that it is succulent! As I am a ginger lover, I loved the way the ginger gives so much flavor to this dish. The ginger flavor was also well-balanced with the sweetness of the sugar, the vinegar taste from the rice vinegar and the hint of spiciness from the red pepper flakes. Ingredients 1 pound sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips 175 mL cornstarch 125 mL water 2 eggs 1 carrot, diced 3 green onions, chopped 60 mL fresh ginger, minced 5 garlic gloves, minced 30 mL + 15 mL sesame oil 45 mL soy sauce 60 mL rice vinegar 125 mL sugar 5 mL crushed red pepper flakes Instructions 1. Add cornstarch in a medium bowl. 2. Add water gradually while whisking. 3. Beat eggs into the cornstarch/water mixture. 4. Add the sliced steak strips and toss to coat. 4. Combine the soy sauce, the sugar, the rice vinegar, 15 mL of sesame oil and the red pepper flakes in a small bowl. 5. Heat 30 mL of sesame oil into a wok. 6. Add the beef strips and brown them. 7. Remove from pan. 8. Add the green onions, the carrots, the ginger and the garlic into the wok (add a bit of oil if necessary). 9. Stir fry for 30 seconds to 1 minute. 10. Add the sugar/vinegar mixture and bring to a boil. 11. Add the beef strips and cook until the beef strips are cooked the way you love them. Makes 2 portions. related searches : Ginger
