Gluten-Free Food Choices at Gypsy Picnic 2010
Welcome the first trailer food festival in Austin, the Gypsy Picnic. I was thrilled when I found out that this event would be taking place. My first thought was, what am I going to eat? There are many trailers around town that are starting to recognize the need for gluten-free friendly food choices. Luckily, some of those trailers will be at Gypsy Picnic. Gypsy Picnic will take place this Saturday, November 6 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. The picnic is dog and family friendly, each dish will be no more than $4, there will be live music from local bands, and best of all the event is free! The gluten-free friendly vendors who will be participating this year include (all gluten-free items confirmed with trailer): Bananarchy Half or whole frozen banana with your choice of chocolate or vegan chocolate. Coolhaus Gluten-free chocolate chip cookies for ice cream sandwiches. Their ice cream is gluten-free as well. Elixer Coffee All coffee drinks Choice of organic milk or soy milk Juan Pelota All coffee drinks Patika Coffee French press coffee Mochas Flying Carpet Lentils and chicken Mejool date The Peached Tortilla BBQ brisket taco , ask for corn tortilla, sub out the BBQ sauce for the sriracha mayo. Note: As always with food trailers, please be aware that you might come across cross contamination. They are working in close quarters, and no trailer is certified gluten-free.
