Going green with Brita water bottles

By The Coexist Cafe (Visit website)

Not long ago, I made a post about going green. Most notably, my water bottle usage was off the charts -- while my kidneys were dancing with excitement (all the way to the restroom, I might add), Mother Earth was shaking her head in disdain. After a friend of mine and fellow blogger pointed out, there's a way to make water straight out the tap taste so good, you'd think it was bottled.

Enter: The Brita water bottle.

Matt and I are huge Brita fans. We've had our Brita pitcher since we've had putrid tap water in Orlando -- so, like, forever -- and it's really helped us both up our water intake and lower our environmental impact. Imagine my excitement, then, when my friend pointed out that Brita also makes water bottles (in fact, she made a post today about them!), so you can have that clean, refreshing taste anywhere.

She told me about Amazon's selection, but I hadn't had the chance to purchase mine online before I found some in Target! I forgot what Matt and I were even shopping for at the time, but I came across those water bottles and just about had a conniption!

"Matt, ohmygod, we HAVE to have these! They're the water bottles I've been telling you about!"
"Wait, what? You told me about what?"

Hrm. Looks like I had to explain it again! Fortunately, the bottle was pretty self-explanatory, and soon we were carrying out two bottles and a few replacement filters (Matt: "Just in case they decide to discontinue something else good").

Today is my first day using the Brita water bottle, and I have to say, it's absolutely worth it! Not only am I keeping 150 bottles per filter out of landfills or recycling facilities, I also have a way to turn any water, anywhere, into fresh water that tastes just as good as out of the original pitcher. Yum!

(I'm not getting paid for this review, though I wish. [Hear that, Brita? Yup, free advertising!])
