Gouriebieh, Mamoul bil jouz, Mamoul bil foustok.... Middle Eastern Sweets
Gouriebieh Ingredients 480 g plain flour 240 g powdered sugar 240 ghee ( clarified butter ) 40 g pistachios Method Mix sugar with ghee , then add flour. Make a soft dough. Divide into small portions. Lightly flour the work place, tip dough onto it, and then quickly roll out lengthwise. Bring the two ends together , and then add the pistachio on top. Heat oven to 90 * C and bake for 20 minutes . Let it cool for some time and then serve. Mamoul bil jouz Ingredients 400 g flour 200 g ghee ( clarified butter ) 40 ml corn oil 200 g sugar 10 g yeast ( dilute dry yeast in 1 tablespoon warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar and keep aside for 15 minutes ) 150 g walnuts , chopped 50 g sugar 1 tablespoon water Method Mix sugar and ghee until soft. Add flour and yeast solution. Mix well to make a smooth dough. In a separate bowl , mix walnuts with sugar , water and oil to make the filling. Cut dough into small portions , stuff with the filling and seal the ends. Place in a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 300 * C for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool for some time. Mamoul bil foustok Ingredients 400 g flour 200 g ghee ( clarified butter ) 40 ml corn oil 200 g sugar 10 g yeast (dilute yeast dry yeast in 1 tablespoon warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar and keep aside for 15 minutes ) 150 g chopped pistachios 50 g sugar 1 tablespoon water Method Mix sugar and ghee until stiff. Add flour and yeast solution . mix well to make a smooth dough. In a separate bowl , mix chopped pistachios , sugar , water and oil to make the filling. Cut dough into small portions and stuff with the filling. Seal the ends and make round / rectangular shapes. Place in a baking tray and bake at 300 * C for 20 minutes. Recipe credit - Friday
